Garden Patch Grow Box Green Review

Garden Patch Grow Box Green
Average Reviews:

I've owned three of these boxes for over two years. I live in the desert and am terrible about remembering to water so I have a small drip line feeding the water basin to make sure there is enough water. My two different tomato plants have thrived in these boxes. My lettuce was great and I'm going for three more for other veggies. The only problem is that they are too shallow for veggies that need a lot of depth and I would like the manufacturer to make taller ones. I'm very happy with my purchase since they were less expensive than some others I looked at and once they are set up with the fertilizer in the covering I didn't have to do anything else for the entire season except spray off plant pests and pick tomatoes

and put colorfull flowers in them ..they are doing great and look beautiful...
like a 3 tier wedding cake filled with flowers
Don't forget to drill 2 or too holes in each pot for the water to drain out before added top soil.Highly recommended

Gothic House Terrarium (Wardian Case) with Live Plants Review

Gothic House Terrarium (Wardian Case) with Live Plants

My son loved the terrerium but all the plants were dead when it arrived. It was December abd very cold but maybe you could send a certificate for redemption for plants later if it's winter and the product is going to Nebraska. I did save them and gave them to him so he would know what kind of plants t try in it. Other than that it was beautiful and he is enjoying it very much and got a big laugh out of me giving him dead plants.

Windowsill Self-Watering Planter - White Review

Windowsill Self-Watering Planter - White
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have to admit I haven't used this yet for it's self-water feature. The plants are still just sprouts so their root system hasn't developed enough to need the self-watering. But eventually they will get bigger and I think this is going to be a great relationship. I'm growing windowsill lettuce since I'm tired of the selection at the supermarkets and want some hard-to-get greens, decided I'll just grow my own. Only problem is the cat--he keeps checking to see if the sprouts are ready to be eaten so I've had to set up a shelf so he can't get to them. The pot is narrow (6") but long (13") so all the seeds can get light, yet it's light enough for me to rotate so my plants don't grow crooked. I probably could start 2 other pots next to this one if I really wanted to get into indoor farming. The outer pot is nice and sleek. the inner pot drains into the outer one so your plants don't have to sit in water growing moldy, and like hydroponics, you can put a liquid fertilizer in the water which will be drawn up into the inner pot roots.

Felknor Ventures TT021112 Topsy Turvy Tomato and Herb Planter Review

Unlike similar products that have only 1 plant port at the bottom, this version has 10 ports. One at the bottom, and 9 on the sides, so you can grow 10 plants total.
The side ports hold smaller plants like herbs, and the bottom port can hold a heavier plant like tomato.
Just double-check and confirm how many ports the planter has before you buy. Multiple ports are better than just one.

It doesn't get much easier or more exciting to grow tomatoes or fresh herbs than with the Felknor Ventures Topsy Turvy Planter. Just place your tomato or herb plant in the Topsy Turvy, add your favorite potting soil, hang it, and add water. The upside-down planter uses gravity to force the water and nutrients down freely from the root to the fruit, yielding up to 30 pounds of ripe tomatoes per plant. Or grow fresh herbs like parsley, basil, oregano, rosemary, mint, and more. The planter acts as a greenhouse, using the sun to warm the plant, so the roots explode and thrive. Hanging the Topsy Turvy keeps it away from ground fungus, cutworms, and harmful bacteria. No pesticides, digging, weeding, or other dirty, backbreaking work is necessary to grow the yummiest tomatoes and herbs in the neighborhood. Create fresh seasonings, homemade sauces, and fun new recipes using your own ingredients. You can even grow them organically. Setup and maintenance are easy.

EarthBox RB-EB-PBB Garden Kit Review

EarthBox RB-EB-PBB Garden Kit
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Earth Box is an innovative approach to container gardening. The reservoir system ensures that the plants get exactly the water they need. All you have to do is keep the reservoir from drying out, which requires you to fill it every other day or so. You can't over-water - you just fill the reservoir until water comes out the overflow hole. Plants use different amounts of water at different times of their growth, so when I fill the Earth Box every other day, I sometimes topped it off quickly and sometimes needed to fill nearly the entire reservoir. When plants are using more water, it can take a lot of time to fill the reservoir. I set up a rain barrel with a 1.5" flexible tubing and a spigot, which fills the Earth Boxes very quickly. It took forever using a watering can. The fertilizer strip system works wonderfully too, providing adequate nutrients without risk of burning the plants (you don't use slow release fertilizer in the Earth Box).
You can use the Earth Box to grow transplants, or to plant from seeds. One word of caution - make sure the cover doesn't cover your plants, especially your emerging seedlings, or the sun will burn the plants. I cut out a square instead of an X for each plant (if the plants are too small to rise above the cover), which increases the chance of weed seed getting into the potting mix but decreases the chance of sunburn.
My plants were a little slow to take off, but they out-grew and out-produced my garden plants. The Earth Box is easy to set up and easy to maintain. However, they are heavy once filled. I use a hand truck to move them in for the winter. They are made of durable plastic, but they can be punctured - one of mine got caught on a protruding nail head and now has a hole in the bottom. Also be aware that the Earth Box requires ongoing purchases - at least of the covers which will need to be changed every year. However, you can use your own potting soil and fertilizer.

Double your yields of vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers with less fertilizer, less watering, and no weeding at all with the EarthBox Garden growing system. The patented EarthBox was developed by commercial farmers and proven in the lab and on the farm to bolster yields while consuming fewer resources. It also takes up less space, letting you grow healthy, robust veggies, fruits and more on the balcony rail or inside on the windowsill. The EarthBox measures 30 by 13-1/2 by 12 inches (l x w x h) for a soil capacity of 2-1/2 cubic feet. The box rests on four wheels and easily rolls into full sun and then moves to the back row so another Earthbox or your favorite potted flower can get sum rays. This maintenance-free growing system controls soil conditions and eliminates guesswork so vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers grow bigger, tastier and faster! The growing kit includes fertilizer, dolomite, and two germination covers for jumpstarting your garden. The box is UV protected for years of use, and it's recyclable.
