I bought this for my mother's 88th birthday. I haven't seen it myself yet but she loves it. I sent her a picture and she said it looks just like the photo. She is not sure if it is a real rock pot or a made to look like rock pot but she is very very happy with it so that makes me happy.

Brussel's Golden Gate Ficus Bonsai Review

Brussel's Golden Gate Ficus Bonsai

I received this tree on December 17th. I was home for delivery (it was sent as a gift) we unwrapped it immediately. The soil was very moist, almost soaking when I unwrapped it, so I did not water it again. Some of the leaves were starting to curl and blacken, but I assumed that was from shock. I emailed Brussels directly over that weekend and phoned them on the 21st. I have yet to receive a reply from either venue. The tree itself is now about dead, though we have it in direct sun and have been keeping the soil moist. Almost every leaf is blackened and curled/dried up. Very disappointed in their customer call back.

Brussel's Dawn Redwood Bonsai Review

Brussel's Dawn Redwood Bonsai
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I received this tree this week. I have purchased Bonsai trees from other online vendors, but none have compared to this starting with the packing of the tree, you could tell it was packed with great care, it arrived in perfect shape. The tree is healthy and beautiful, far more beautiful than the picture shown on Amazon. The tree has a wonderful aroma, it smells like your in a forest, on a fall morning.
I could tell it was healthy immediately. Sometimes when you order things on line your disappointed, but not enough to go through the trouble of sending the item back. The minute I saw this tree I had wished I had ordered more. I will order other items from this company, I hope they are as fine as this purchase was.Brussel's Dawn Redwood Outdoor Bonsai Tree

Dawn Redwoods were thought to be totally extinct until they were discovered at a temple in China in early 20th century. These trees have beautiful feather-like foliage and a formal, upright style which is visually powerful and majestic.

Beautiful tree, carefully packed with all items in picture. Really fast shipping. Actually arrived a day early, which was a bit of a bummer because I had to give my valentine his present early. But that's what happens when you order perishable things and who can complain about good service? Thank you for a great job.

Brussel's Snow Rose Bonsai Review

Brussel's Snow Rose Bonsai
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Serissa is not easy to care for however (unlike the Ulmus or Zelkova, etc.) and therefore better suitable for experienced growers, the reason being that the tree is very sensitive to changes in watering /location /temperature. Stability of conditions is key!
Position: Much sunlight is necessary, choose a spot where the tree doesn't need to be relocated and at a constant temperature. Minimum temperature (50F).
Watering: Water the tree regularly, it should never dry out. Mist it daily if no flowers are growing. If the tree drops it leaves (because you replaced it, temperatures changed, etc.) continue but slightly decrease watering.
Feeding: Fertilize lightly about once or twice monthly in the growth season

At first this plant was fine.Full of bright green leaves. It even bloomed one time. Then the problem's started. The leaves started falling off like crazy after I had only had the plant for four days. And in Three weeks the plant was dead.Alerted the seller twice to the problem I was having before the plant died but they were no help at all. There also were not any instructions on how to care for this plant.

I had this tree sent to my daughter for her birthday, but it arrived in poor condition and only got worse. We fared no better with a second attempt...we were very disappointed, to say the least. But, Amazon was very cooperative about our return.

With delicate, crinkled vibrant pink/purple flowers blossoming mid to late summer, the Dwarf Crepe Myrtle bonsai tree adds welcome color to any deck, patio or garden. The flowers have six or seven crinkly-edged petals on stalks, sticking out between the sepals, which are simple triangular points. The flowers occur in spike-like clusters. The tree's sinewy, fluted stems support opposing leaves with entire margins.Grown in Chinese nurseries under carefully controlled conditions, and developed at U.S. National Arboretum, this tree is 5 years old and 7 inches tall.
Brussels grows specimens only under carefully controlled conditions, meticulously training each tree with wire and pruning over a period of years. If upon the tree's arrival some leaves have dropped or turned slightly brown that does not mean the bonsai is unhealthy. Defoliation is the natural result of being in the low-light environment of a shipping box. When you receive your tree, place the box in a shaded area to unpack. Inspect tree for damage to branches or leaves. Water soil if dry, and place the tree in shade for at least one week before moving to a sunny location.
What is a Bonsai? Literally, the Japanese word "bonsai" means "tray tree" or "plant grown in a pot." The term refers to the artistic techniques used to capture the natural beauty of trees, rather than a specific variety of tree. A full-grown tree and a bonsai can be grown from the same seed--the bonsai has simply been dwarfed and shaped through years of training. This product is a dud. We followed the directions, which are painstaking, twice and neither time did anything grow. Requires sealing the pot in a plastic bag with air holes in indirect light for 2 - 3 weeks, refrigerate for 3 - 6 weeks, and so on, and after months of work nothing grew.
Do not buy this product.

I purchased this bonsai for my mother's 75th birthday gift. Her thumb is so green she could walk by a plant and it would bloom within the hour! She has had many varieties of garden or house plant, but never a bonsai. when it arrived, the packaging was more than sufficient to protect in during shipping, she was elated and I cannot remember when I have heard her more excited. It is a perfect gift for someone who likes plants and has most of the usual varieties. She LOVED IT!!!

Depends on where you would buy this bonsai tree with, the seller from CA shipped to me a juniper bonsai tree that was tiny with basically one slim twig ... I am extremely disappointed with this Bonsai, it looks NOTHING like the picture! It probably worth for $3 the most; the quality is ridiculous. Ask the seller to send you a picture before purchase!!!

Brussel's Japanese Red Maple Bonsai Review

Brussel's Japanese Red Maple Bonsai
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I received the bonsai very quickly (3 days). Very good service for a live plant purchase online. Even better was the free shipping. The bonsai came packaged very securely and I had no problems. I love the fact that the plant tag specified the cultivar of the Acer palmatum. There's nothing worse than buying a no ID plant and trying to figure out what cultivar of the plant you have to determine plant culture. I received a Acer palmatum 'Atropurpureum', I'm not sure if they will always be selling this specific cultivar though. This specific cultivar will exhibit deep red color in Spring, Summer, and Fall. I am very happy with this purchase. I will be looking at more plants from Brussels in the future.

The foliage of Japanese Red Maples is a brilliant red, beginning when the leaves first emerge in the spring, continuing through the heat of summer and into autumn. Beautiful serrated, palmate leaves set this tree apart from all others.

Chinese Elm Bonsai Tree - Medium by Bonsai Boy Review

Chinese Elm Bonsai Tree - Medium by Bonsai Boy
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
First off, the bonsai looks pretty darn close to the photo - and when you consider they "train" more than one that's a welcome outcome. But considering I ordered through an Amazon partner I wasn't concerned. I've always been satisfied - even if minor adjustments are needed.
BonsaiBoy packaging was awesome! I was curious how it would arrive - particularly since it's a living thing and this is late December.
The bonsai is carefully wrapped at the base (pot) so the soil does not move at all. But it unwraps quickly - use a circular motion in the opposite direction of the packing. You'll see.
Packing peanuts surround the bonsai so the box can take the expected transit handling. Lifting the bonsai out of the box the peanuts fall away and the tree is unharmed. Easy.
A surprise was the chemical heat pack also included. I ordered for Christmas and live on the west coast so it had to travel quite a ways during very cold weather. Very impressed they took the time to add that little extra insurance. The pack didn't last the entire trip of course but it did ease the transition from where it was raised to the travel conditions via UPS.
Those of you that have them know bonsai are sensitive so, now that it has arrived, it's over to me to help it recover from the stress of the trip. Well, again to my surprise, the care sheet provided includes instructions for cold weather transition. This is not the little tag you get on some bonsai. This is a two-page well written sheet - broken down by categories. Again, impressive.
Particularly given the Amazon price and the BonsaiBoy workmanship this is definitely a worthwhile purchase.

Flowering Plum Bonsai Tree-Small Review

Flowering Plum Bonsai Tree-Small

While the container is smaller and the tree is younger, this plant came happy, healthy and blindingly simple to take care of. Mine has already provided a healthy cutting, is growing like gangbusters, and is tastefully done with a companion stone, fine brick chip gravel and a healthy plant definitely older than a mere seedling, but young enough and with enough character to become what I request of it. Excellent, healthy plant.

I've traveled into NYC to the flower district, and shopped in Bonzai shops, and picked up pretty good Bonzai over the years. NONE have compared to the quality and beauty of the bonzai from this source.
The people I gave these to as gifts were blown away.
Not only were they good strong specimens, they were beautifully shaped and pruned. These are not just small cuttings stuck in the ground and allowed to grow until mature enough to ship. They are crafted for beauty.
Buy them here, and you will be truly pleased.

With small, round leaves and large, pink flowers blooming from May to June, this broadleaf flowering bonsai is packed with stems for a gorgeous late spring show.Though the Satsuki Azalea has just one flower per stem, the shrub has so many stems that during the flowering season they are a solid mass of color. Grown in Japan for centuries, the Satsuki Azalea's graceful trunk movement adds distinct shape to the patio, deck or garden. This particular bonsai is 5 years old and stands 8 inches tall. Although evergreens can be displayed indoors for short periods of time, they need to experience seasonal changes and should be kept outside year round.
Brussels grows specimens only under carefully controlled conditions, meticulously training each tree with wire and pruning over a period of years.
