Micro Tom Tomato 15 Seeds - Worlds Smallest Review

(More customer reviews)I grow at least 5 proven performers in NC for main season and 5 new varieties each year. I also grow at least 2-3 cherry tomatoes and Micro Tom had a lot of appeal for possible winter (indoor) use. Pros: Plant is small, prostrate and quite pretty with many, many flowers.
Cons: Tomatoes have very tough skins and flesh and have a rather unique bitter taste with little tomato flavor that I (or wife) expect and would eat out of hand. Could possibly be adapted to some kind of salad but this would be a stretch.
Summary: Decorative and nice to look at in January I would think.

Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade 5 Lb Review

(More customer reviews)I used DE in my home becuase of bedbugs. It has been about a month and i havent seen one since. I reccommend food grade DE as a safer non-toxic pesticide. In the home, left undisturbed it should work for months, I have never used this outside.
I reccommend buying a specific pump to be used with DE and also a face mask for application.
If you have bedbugs, first get treated by a professional and then use DE as a preventative. Ask how to apply for maximum effectiveness (yes this works if done correctly). Also visit bedbug websites to learn more.

They are great seeds, you just need to be patient. It's been six weeks since they've been out of the fridge and I still have some sapplings sprouting.

(More customer reviews)After seeing only a negative review I thought I would add my thoughts to balance things out a bit. I had a positive experience. I purchased a Galaxy peach tree from Clifton's about a year ago. I was able to reach someone on the phone before buying to ask about availability and talk about site preparation. The tree arrived in good shape. Although it seemed that one branch had to be cut to fit in the box, the plant looked very healthy. We planted it the next day and even got a small crop a few months later of wonderfully succulent fruit (I can really recommend the Galaxy peak variety!). In the past year or so it has doubled in size and we are looking forward to the next crop of the super tasty fruit. This tree was not available in my area, so ordering from Clifton's let me get exactly what I wanted. I would definitely order from them again.

Christmas Mountain TS9405 Indoor Steel Christmas Tree Stand Review

(More customer reviews)This tree stand saved my butt. For the second time I was using one of the cheap plastic tree stands you can get at big box stores. Even though the stand was supposed to support a 6-foot tree it immediately cracked and was leaking water on my carpet. I found this steel stand on Amazon and ordered it right away, taking a chance since there weren't any reviews on it yet. It got here quickly, before my tree died. Assembly was a breeze. Made in Canada, not China! The design and workmanship is flawless. For example, the support screws sit up high, above the water line, so they don't get rusted. There is a center support that I wasn't able to use this year because I had to switch stands after the tree was already decorated but I will for sure use it next year. You can't see this part when you order the stand but it is another example of the smart design. The stand holds so much water that my tree never dropped any needles for the 40 days it was up. I'm not sure how tall a tree this stand will support but you are safe with up to 8 feet as far as I can tell. This stand will last a lifetime and won't end up in a landfill like the last two pieces of plastic crap I went through. I highly recommend this tree stand.

9-10" Shiitake Mushroom Log Review

(More customer reviews)I had never heard of a mushroom log before until I was flipping through a catalog of expensive items and saw one. My thought was that it would make a great Christmas gift for my Dad, but I thought the price was a bit much, especially considering that shipping would be added on top. Since I was ordering from Amazon anyway I decided to look if mushroom logs were available, and indeed they were, for less than the price in the catalog I had been flipping through. Within a few days of placing the order, I got a very nice email from Sandra at Lost Creek. She wanted to know approximately when I would like the item to arrive, and explained that it's not good for the log to sit for long periods of time. I hadn't even considered that, and had missed the part in the description where that is stated. So I specified a date. I got an email from them when they had shipped the item, and it arrived a day before I had requested. How refreshing to see such a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Upon opening the box I saw that the log was nicely packaged for gift-giving and included detailed instructions, a "quick reference" card, a recipe booklet, and black-and-white pictures of what to expect when the log fruits. (The folks at Lost Creek must have taken to heart the other reviewer's comments back in 2005. I like it when people are willing to learn from their experiences.) No tray is included, but that fact is clearly stated in the description, and besides, it's cheap enough to get a plastic bucket from the supermarket or the hardware store.
Short Version: This is a wonderful and unique gift, nicely packaged and shipped right on time. Plus, the folks who sell it are clearly very focused on customer satisfaction. I couldn't ask for a better and more personal shopping experience.

(More customer reviews)I own several of these exact units, the bulbs included are actually very decent in spectrum/lumens. The hood has knockouts on both ends for attaching 4" ducting and is shaped to accept a flat glass lens (19.5"x21") which I got cut to size for about $8 at the hardware store. The whole system assembles with ease, the ballast operates coolly and dependably.
I believe I have thoroughly explored the market on similar items, and find this to be a better deal than any store or other online outlet, even including the shipping cost in the equation.
