(More customer reviews)I have sold hoses similar to this at home shows before, and here are some of the distinctions which aren't obvious at first glance.
It is exceptionally strong material, and it does hold it's recoil ability.
The measured length is at maximum stretch. Because of the recoil ability it takes a little muscle to get there.
When it's full of water, the weight effects the recoil ability.
The transparent quality of the hose actually lets light inside and can allow the growth of algae.
It is a very clean material and is suitable for drinking water.
It has a higher PSI rating than most hoses which means it's good under pressure.
A few of them together make a decent solar water-heater.
The material is polyurethane. There are good polyurethane adhesives which will seal punctures you might get in the hose.
One of the other reviews stated that the water pressure wasn't sufficient. There are larger diameter versions of this type of hose available.

(More customer reviews)1. Unlike what the photo seems to show, the angle of the spray head is only about 10 deg down from the wand. In the photo it's about 50 deg. (I measured it after I received the wand and realized the angle was much smaller than pictured). This makes the wand useless for hanging plants because you have to hold the handle of the wand higher than the plant to spray down into the pot and not over the top of it. It works no better for hanging plants than a watering can with a long spout.
In fact a completely horizontal wand wouldn't be much worse than this one in terms of spraying down into hanging plants or plants on high shelves.
2. The faucet adapter leaks. I tried it on different faucets with the same thread in the house and got the same results. Even at low water pressure, water sprays from the adapter in all directions. The water that happens to hit the hose runs down the hose onto the floor. The water that doesn't hit the hose sprays the wall in back of the sink and the counters to the sides. It really makes a mess. Yes, there is a washer; it leaks anyway.
3. The hose might be 50ft uncoiled, but in practical use it only uncoils to about half that length before it becomes far more work to drag the wand around than it would be to carry a watering can.
4. Water delivery is slow. Even at high pressure, regardless of spray setting, it takes forever to water a medium sized plant thoroughly (by medium I mean pots with diameters of 6" - 8"). Larger plants take even longer. Once again, you're better off with a watering can.
When I bought this product I was hoping that the angle of the spray head was as large as shown in the photo, so I could water hanging plants without having to climb up to them on a ladder with a watering can. For that reason and the others cited above, this product just doesn't make it.
I forgot one other nice touch:
5. No documentation. Nada. No instructions, no printed warranty, no company contact information, nothing - not even an Amazon packing slip. Cheap. Stay away from this turkey.

(More customer reviews)The first thing to be aware of is that the diameter of this hose is extremely small. This makes it impossible to use with most sprinklers or watering systems. I'm guessing it's 1/4 to 3/8 inch in diameter. Note it doesn't list the diameter size here which is the most important thing to consider when buying a watering hose. Other retailers list the diameter as 3/8 inch which is to small for most watering sprinklers to work properly, which I discovered by trial. Average size hoses run from 5/8, 3/4 to 1 inch in diameter. The second thing is that the coiling wears out very quickly.

(More customer reviews)I recently purchased this product from Amazon. Although it does an adequate job for a hose, I was somewhat disappointed in the water pressure reduction. Because of the much smaller hose diameter, the flow rate is significantly reduced.
Another disappointment is that it does "kink" up, even though the Amazon description says that it won't. For me, it actually kinks up more than a normal hose.
I don't know that I would have purchased the product if I had known about these issues before hand.

(More customer reviews)This is a very nice product for its intended use (albeit one that is rather similar to many others marketed elsewhere). However, please bear in mind a couple of subtleties that may not be obvious from the item description:
(1) The length of the hose is measured at its theoretically full extension. However, the hose never actually reaches this full extension because of elastic resistance (i.e. the very same "spring" effect which is the reason you presumably bought the hose) and torsion along the length of the hose as it is stretched. My experience is that you lose approximately 25% of the hose's length to these two effects. The only way to beat this is by making sure that the hose's rated length is that much LONGER than you need.
(2) Make sure that you have the appropriate adapter permitting you to attach the hose to your faucet. Designer faucets, faucets with hose attachments, imported faucets, and outdoor faucets all may have trouble working with this hose out of the box.
