I own the following to compare the GYO tent to:
1) Homebox XL
2) Original Hydrohut 4x4 w/ white interior before the off-gassing issues
Having something to compare this GYO tent to I can safely say this one wins hands down. It is drastically cheaper, has the silver-like interior and a 90 degree angled 6" exhaust outlet. It's pole structure is closely related to the Homebox. It is mostly poles that slip into three-way plastic corner pieces. The middle poles contain three-way metal slip on connections. Overall it is much sturdier than the Homebox. The Homebox sways every time I zip it up or down. The Hydrohut is the most sturdy of the three because the poles lock together and are thicker metal, but if your tent floor gets wet (flooded basement) they will rust together. The GYO is better suited if you ever need to disassemble and move quickly. The GYO "tent" also fits a lot easier. I was able to assemble the 4x8 tent alone with little to no problems. They other two 4x4 tents require a helping hand to wrap the tent over the frame. The GYO tent's don't have as many exhaust entrances and exits compared to newer models like the "Dark Room" ,but for the price difference you can buy as many 4-8" exhaust connectors as you may require. The zipper is close to the Homebox. The Hydrohut has larger, stronger zippers but it is not worth the price difference IMO :)
