(More customer reviews)This is a well made, attractively designed macramé plant hanger. I am embarrassed to admit that many years ago, I was designing and creating plant hangers of my own that were much more complex than this item. But, alas, I've lost the art. However, I can still appreciate the significant time it takes to create each one of these. It is not machine made - an artisan sat and individually tied these knots by the hundreds. It's hard on the hands and you have to tie each knot with exactly the same force to accomplish the uniformity that this piece achieved.
My initial order was for two of these, which I used with an 8" X 8" and a 10" X 10" cylindrical potDynamic Design SD0612BK Hi Gloss 6-Inch Poly Planter with Attached Saucer, Black. The plant hanger easily handled the two different sizes, but it looks better with the 8" one as much more of the hanger is visible. One other item that might interest you. I wanted to vertically center the pot in my window. You can easily adjust the height by sliding up the bottom knot until it hangs the pot in the perfect position. I raised my one pot by four inches doing this, then simply trimmed a bit of the excess "tail" with a scissors.
The item came from Bothell, WA and was shipped within a day of my Amazon order and arrived five days later in coastal New Jersey via USPS. At $5.45 for shipping, it wasn't unreasonable, especially since the estimated delivery date according to Amazon was beat by nearly a week. Not too shabby. I hope my prior experience with tying my own macramé will lend more weight to a well-deserved rating, as "5 Stars" can sometimes be overused within Amazon.
